This network of workshop-studios in an old stable-yard near Queen’s University is home to a group of artists and crafts producers.
With an emphasis on recycling (‘upcycling’) the workshop transforms unwanted material into sought-after crafts and arts products – including stylish wine glasses made from old wine and beer bottles.
The Lawrence Street Workshops were informally established in 1989 by local artists and crafts people with creative business ideas to provide themselves with affordable workspaces in their own vicinity. They have continued to evolve the many facets of their business to provide a progressive forward-looking future for the quality Crafts Industry within Northern Ireland.
